Browser requirements for viewing the data tables

The USA Trade Online site uses a customized version of
Beyond 20/20's Vista product. In order to access the data tables, you need a web browser which is compatible with this software. One of the following web browsers is required, with JavaScript enabled:

  • Internet Explorer for Windows, version 5.5 or later. (Recommended: 6.0 or later.)
  • Firefox, version 1.5 or later. (Recommended: 2.0 or later.)
  • Firefox for Macintosh, version 1.0. (Recommended: 1.5 or later.) (Limited support)

Note: "Limited support" means that we believe the browser in question works. However, we have not done extensive testing. Some features might not behave exactly as expected. (Other browsers or operating systems might also work, but Beyond 20/20 has not tested other configurations and cannot support them.)

Note: If you connect to the Internet using a proxy server, but you will connect to Perspective over an intranet, you must set your browser to bypass the proxy for local connections.

In addition, your browser has to have JavaScript support enabled for our data site. If you encounter problems with this, it may be because of security levels that have been implemented in your browser to prevent unauthorized sites from interfering with your system. Internet Explorer, for example, uses the concept of "web content zones" which are found under Tools | Internet Options... | Security. The URL used for USA Trade Online data should either be considered "Trusted" or given a level of "Medium" or lower. "Active scripting" should be enabled for it.
